The Association of Diving Contractors International, Inc. is a not-for-profit corporation, organized in 1968 and officially chartered in 1970 to serve as an industry forum in support of improving safety, education, and communication throughout the commercial diving industry. Throughout its existence ADCI has worked with the industry to develop improved practices for the conduct of commercial diving and underwater operational safety. ADCI cooperates with federal and state regulatory agencies in order to contribute to the content, practicality, and understanding of proposed and existing regulations. ADCI publishes Consensus Standards for Commercial Diving and Underwater Operations, an authoritative and invaluable document. ADCI is comprised of over 470 member companies located in 41 nations and is organized in four U.S. regional chapters; the Asia-Pacific Chapter; the Latin American & Caribbean Chapter; the Chilean Chapter; and an International Chapter.

The Marine Technology Society's ROV Committee co-sponsors Underwater Intervention. MTS is a not-for-profit, professional Society. Its mission is to promote the exchange of information, advance the development of technology, and to promote ocean education. Since 1963, the Society has been fulfilling its mission through serving an international membership of ocean engineers, technologists, and scientists. Publications, including a bi-monthly newsletter, a quarterly peer-reviewed Journal, and numerous conference proceedings, provide up-to-date information on relevant issues and topics. The Society enhances the marine community through its conferences, workshops, and tutorials at the national and local level. MTS is comprised of 2400 individuals, businesses, and institutions. There are eleven student chapters, twenty-five technical committees, and twelve sections. There are 240 members on the ROV Committee.
